Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plans and Rapid Response Plans
LEPCs were originally created to focus solely on hazardous chemical responses, but most LEPCs have taken an All Hazards Approach, which means that they plan for all hazards that may affect our communities. WRC planners work with towns to encourage them to create a Pre-Disaster Mitigation plan which is meant to assist a town in identifying all of the hazards facing the town and to identify strategies to begin reducing risks from
identified hazards. Not all towns in the Windham region have PDMs, but the ones that do are listed below; however, all towns are required to have a Rapid Response Plan, which is a checklist and guide for each town in case of an emergency.
